The Jason Roberts Foundation Summer Football Program kicked off this month in St George’s where a large number of young people enjoyed structured football coaching sessions.

During the week, a mixed group of young people from ages 8-16 participated in football drills, fundamental development skills and fun games.There were three groups: U-10, U-13 and U-16 and each group was led by two JRF coaches.

The sessions help to promote community cohesion and provide an increase in young people accessing positive activities and participation in structured sporting activities – contributing to healthier communities through the playing of sport.

The program also helps the young people to appreciate some fundamental qualities of good players such as team work, good communication skills and discipline.

The program was sponsored by Digicel, Glenelg, Westerhall Estate and Grenada Breweries.
