More kit for Grenada
CEO of theJason Roberts Foundation, Otis Roberts, is due to fly out to Grenada this week to oversee more sporting kit being delivered to young people on the island. The first kit drop this year took place in the summer when Jason was on hand to personally deliver kit in some of the Parishes on the island. As promised, the Foundation planned to deliver the generous amount of sporting materials, boots and kit – kindly donated by a well-known sportswear giant, over a number of months throughout the year, to ensure they reach as many young people as possible. The kit drop – which has now been a regular feature of the Foundation’s Grenada programme, is delivered in association with St. George’s University, who provide help and assistance with transportation to enable the kit to be delivered to the most disadvantaged on the island. Jason Roberts said, “The support the Foundation receives from St. George’s University is invaluable. Without their help in supplying transport and extra hands to deliver the kit, there are many children and young people we would not be able to reach – we are very grateful to the University for their continued assistance.” Talent ID & Youth Cultural Exchange Programme During his week-long visit to the island, Otis will also take the opportunity to meet again with the lucky winners of the Talent ID programme that was held during the summer. The three boys – who were identified from 100’s of hopeful young footballers who participated in the programme – will be presented with Jason Roberts Foundation branded training kit and football boots. They will also receive advice from fitness and nutrition experts from the Body & Soul Gym – who have partnered with the Foundation on their Health programme, helping to promote good nutrition and healthy lifestyles to the youth of Grenada. Otis will also be meeting with some potential sponsors who have expressed an interest in supporting the expansion of the Jason Roberts Football Academy in Grenada, which is starting to take shape on a weekly basis. Otis said “We’re delighted about the prospect of expanding the Talent ID and Youth Cultural Exchange Programme and providing opportunities to more young footballers. The launch of the programme this summer proved to be a great success but we don’t want it to end with only three boys having the opportunity to be part of the Academy and to visit the UK – we hope to continue this exciting programme every year.” If you have sports equipment or kit that you would like to donate to the Foundation please email info@jasonrobertsfoundation.org If you are interested in sponsoring the Talent ID and Youth Cultural Exchange Programme and would like more details please email info@jasonrobertsfoundation.org
